with a striking tall eastern end, built around 1170 in the new
Gothic style. It displays one of the most complete ground plans
of any English Cistercian monastery, laid out as excavated foundations
and incorporating the original drainage ditch. English Heritage
charges apply. About 2 miles south of Maltby.

South Yorkshire. Tel: 01709 850353. Thrybergh reservoir was constructed
in 1880 to supply the borough of Doncaster with water. Due to
the amount of leakage Thrybergh reservoir never met the demands
put on it. Today Thrybergh is a nature lover’s paradise
with 200 species of birds and other wildlife in the area. About
3 miles west of Maltby.
