Birkenhead. Birkenhead is a town on the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside,
on the banks of the River Mersey, opposite Liverpool. Birkenhead
is about 2 miles east of Junction 3 of the M53 Motorway. Birkenhead
is about 25 miles from Chester. The town was famous as a sea
port and as a centre for ship building as it was close to the

Bootle. Bootle is a town in Sefton, Merseyside. Located
on the Mersey Estuary, it forms part of the Liverpool urban area,
and is situated approximately 4 miles north of Liverpool city
centre. Bootle is within 4 miles of the M58 Motorway. Bootle
is about 20 miles from Wigan. The old civic centre of the town
contains impressive Victorian buildings such as the Town Hall

Ellesmere Port. Ellesmere Port is an industrial town in the district
of Ellesmere Port and Neston, which was founded, as the name
suggests, as an outlet to the sea from Ellesmere, Shropshire
and the Wales border area around Llangollen. Ellesmere Port is
about 1 mile west of Junction 9 of the M53 Motorway and about
3 miles north of Junction 15 of the M56. It is about 6 miles

Liverpool. Liverpool is a city in the metropolitan county of
Merseyside. The M 57 Motorway forms a Liverpool bypass from Junction
6 of the M62 to Aintree. Liverpool city centre is about 7 miles
south of the intersection of the M58 and the M57 Motorways. Liverpool

Moreton. Moreton is alongside Junctions 1 and 2 of the M53
Motorway. It is about 20 miles from Chester, 1 mile from Birkenhead
and 2 miles from Wallasey. During the 1900's, Moreton was known
as a place for a holiday or a place to live thanks to its fresh
air and clean sea. It was seen as beneficial for conditions such
as rheumatism and was chosen as the place to build the Liverpool

Newton le Willows. Newton-le-Willows is a town in the Metropolitan
Borough of St Helens. The town has an extensive transport network,
convenient for both the M6 and M62. It is about 2 miles south
of Junction 23 of the M6 and 3 miles north of junction 9 ofthe
M62. Newton Le Willows is about 4 miles east of St Helens and
5 miles north of Warrington. The old centre of Newton is on the
A49 road (formerly the Warrington-Wigan Turnpike Road) and has
a number of Georgian buildings, and is an attractive residential

Prescot. Prescot is located 8 miles to the northeast of Liverpool
in the borough of Knowsley, about 1/2 mile from Junction 2 of
the M57 motorway, which forms a Liverpool bypass from Junction
6 of the M62 to Aintree. Runcorn is 11 miles to the south, St
Helens is 5 miles northeast and Warrington is 10 miles southeast.
During the 18th and 19th centuries Prescot was at the centre
of the watch and clockmaking industry. Its main tourist attraction

St Helens. St Helens is a small industrial town on Merseyside
and traditionally part of Lancashire. It is about 5 miles west
of Junction 23 of the M6, 4 miles north of junction 7 of the
M62 and 3 miles east of junction 2 of the M57. It lies about
6 miles north of Widnes and 8 miles east of Liverpool. The glass
industry was established here owing to the ready availability

Wallasey. Wallasey is located at the end of the Wirral peninsula
at the mouth of the Mersey estuary, with excellent views across
to Liverpool. It is about 2 miles north of Junction 1 of the
M53 linking Chester to Birkenhead. Wallasey is about 2 miles
north of Birkenhead and 24 miles northwest of Chester. Transportation
links to Liverpool are good with a regular bus leaving New Brighton
through the Kingsway Tunnel.
