of Norman architecture. The keep is 113 feet high and some of

Eastgate House & The Charles Dickens Centre Eastgate House,
High Street, Rochester ME1 1EW. Tel: 01634 844176. Rochester,
and the surrounding countryside, is where Charles Dickens spent
many happy years. Eastgate House is a delightful Elizabethan
house. Ordnance Terrace is a row of Georgian houses where Charles
Dickens lived at what is now No. 11. Location: In the centre
